Tis the season of gifting! If you have a fitness lover in your life, this list of gifts is sure to satisfy their needs. Here are the 6 best gifts for fitness lovers that fit every budget. They will cover everyone from the avid CrossFit athlete to the weekend warrior to the average gym-goer.
Under $100
Rehband Knee Sleeves – (up to) $90 per pair
It’s been a while since I’ve gone shopping for knee sleeves, but that’s probably because I bought the best ones right off the bat. The original Rehband knee sleeves are those iconic blue sleeves you see on nearly every Olympic Weightlifter who steps on the platform. That’s likely due to the fact that they make them 7mm thick! Most knee sleeves on the market are 5mm thick or less. Those extra 2mm really make the difference when it comes to protecting your knees long term. Maybe it’s the extra thickness or the fact that Rehband just makes a quality product, but these sleeves will last you a lifetime. One thing to note is that they are sold individually, not as a pair. At $45 a sleeve, they aren’t the cheapest on the market. Then again, you’re not looking for cheap – you’re looking for the best for your fitness f(r)iend.
Elite FTS Wrist Wraps (give or take) $25
This one is way under $100, but who’s complaining? For the powerlifter in your life, you’d be hard pressed (no pun intended) to find a better gift that doesn’t break the bank. Wrist wraps protect…well…your wrists. When you’re lifting heavy weights – whether that’s bench press, overhead press, or Olympic weightlifting movements – these wraps will keep your wrists closer to neutral (straight), which prevents them from being crushed at weird angles under extreme loads. You can find a million different types of wrist wraps on Amazon, but I’m giving you a quality brand here. Elite FTS is well known for their quality, especially in the powerlifting realm.
Under $500
Hyperice Hypervolt – $349
It’s like having your own personal massage therapist. These massage “guns” are becoming very popular, especially among athletes and the active population. Regardless of how extreme your workout is, it’s nice to unwind afterward with a relaxing massage. This particular model is cordless and lightweight, making it easy to use anywhere. It’s also known to be one of the quietest models on the market, and for $349 it’s a steal! If that price point is a bit too rich for your blood, you could always swing by Pursue Physical Therapy to get unlimited massage sessions along with a few other services for about a third of this price.
Apple Watch Series 5 – $459 (on sale on Amazon)
For the person in your life who loves data, this watch tracks just about everything you’d need to know. If tracking your heart rate wasn’t enough, this model also tracks your heart rhythm. It has interesting features like warning you if the decibel level wherever you are could impact your hearing. Really, if I listed all the features, this article would turn into a book. Suffice it to say, you get a ton of value for the price point. If a fitness tracker was ever a thought, now is the time to buy.
Over $500
I’ll preface this section with saying these gifts are likely reserved for your significant other or someone you really, really, really…really need forgiveness from. They are certainly not easy on the wallet, but they are some of the best and (somewhat) reasonably priced gifts you can find for your fitness lover. That said, be prepared for sticker shock.
NormaTec Recovery Boots – $1200+
If recovery is the goal, these NormaTec’s recovery products are the answer. They have a whole line of compression products that help your whole body recover from tough workouts. The boots are the most popular, and would be a great choice for everyone from powerlifters to runners. Getting one piece of the whole body system will be easier to handle financially, but the full body system is available if money isn’t an issue. NormaTec is a leader in recovery systems, and their products are used by professional athletes around the world. Definitely a quality product that’s backed with plenty of social proof. Again, if the price is scaring you away, NormaTec is part of our much more affordable recovery package here at Pursue.
Concept2 Model D Indoor Rower – $900
A staple for any garage gym, this rower is the company’s best seller for a reason. It’s a reliable piece of equipment that will give you a great, full body workout while taking up minimal space. For this kind of money, you’re getting reliability and the closest thing to an easy button when it comes to getting lean fast. If your worries including shedding some of that inevitable holiday weight, this may be your best option.
Sure, this list of gifts is meant to be for someone else, but who’s stopping you from treating yourself? Like something in this article? Share it with your friends and maybe you’ll be lucky enough to find it under your tree this year.
